I woke up about an hour or so ago. And it was weird. I’d wake up and then fall asleep again. But it was those types of dreams where it would continue the mintue you shut your eyes.
My dream earlier today was about chasing dogs. Well, I was chasing them because I had to gather them and bring them back home. It’s funny because I saw my dog, Yogi in the dream. Out of my family, Yogi is the biggest dog of the bunch. My cousins’, aunts’, uncle’s, and my mom’s are probably 1/3 of Yogi’s size. And what I saw in my dream were Yogi and what was suppose to be the rest of my family members’ dogs. Yogi was Yogi in the dream, except the rest of them weren’t the rest of my family’s. Does that make sense?
Anyway, going on with the dream. I was chasing them and chasing them; going through different obstacles (which seemed like the scenery and decorated stages of Pushing Daisies- one of my favorite TV shows). I really don’t know what the meaning of this dream was, or if it had anything to do with my week. But let’s see what an online dream dictionary says. Give me one minute. . .
Here are some things I found off of www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/ :
To dream that you are being chased, signifies that you are avoiding a situation that you do not think is conquerable. It is often a metaphor for some form of insecurity. In particular, to dream that you are chased by an animal, represents your own unexpressed and unacknowledged anger which is being projected onto that animal. Alternatively, you may be running away from a primal urge or fear.
To dream that you are chasing someone, signifies that you are attempting to overcome a difficult goal or task. You may also be expressing some aggressive feelings toward others.
To see a dog in your dream, indicate a skill that you have ignored or forgotten, but needs to be activated. Alternatively, dogs may symbolize intuition, loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. Your own values and intentions will enable you to go forward in the world and succeed. If the dog is vicious and/or growling, then it signifies some inner conflict within yourself. It may indicate betrayal and untrustworthiness. If the dog is dead or dying, then it indicates a loss of a good friend. Alternatively, it represents a deterioration of your instincts.
To dream that a dog bites your on the leg, suggests that you have lost your ability to balance aspects of your life. You may be hesitant in approaching a new situation or have no desire to move forward with your goals.
To see a happily barking dog in your dream, symbolizes pleasures and much social activity. If the dog is barking ferociously, then it represents your habit of making demands on people and controlling situations around you. It could also mean unfriendly companions.
To dream that you are buying a dog, indicates your tendency to buy your friends or buy compliments/favors. Alternatively, it suggest a need for you to find companionship.
To dream that you are dressing up your dog, signifies your attempts to cover up your own character flaws and habits.
Also consider the notions associated with the word dog, such as loyalty (“man’s best friend”) and to be “treated like a dog”.
I suppose I can just put one and one together and make my own interpretation. Quite interesting, is it not?
